Active IT has worked with St George’s school in some capacity for over 20 years! We supply regular engineer visits and have helped them with planning and growth of their IT infrastructure including recent rapid deployment of a distance learning solution. See what Headmaster William Goldsmith (who is also vice-chair of IAPS) has to say about us here.

Managing an existing school IT system

We have a wide range of support options for schools; if you have an existing system that just needs maintaining and updating, we can do as much or as little as you need. We can also work alongside your IT department to add extra support when you need it, during particularly busy periods. We are experts in all Microsoft technologies, Google G-Suite, Apple Classroom, Mobile Device Management, Interactive Boards, E-Safety, School Management Systems and much much more! Some schools just call us when they need help with a project, many have regular visits with jobs managed through our custom ticketing system and starting in 2020 we can now source, manage and place full time ICT support engineers at your school – all with our expert backup, support and training, saving you time money and hassle of sourcing competent ICT engineers!

We have worked with Holme Grange School for the last 8 years. We have watched them grow from a school with 110 pupils to over 400! They regularly receive outstanding feedback during inspections about their integration of IT into the class room and we have been involved in almost every aspect of their IT development from concepts to launch. Headteacher Claire Robinson had a few nice words to write about us here

Meeting ISI Standards

With over 20 years’ experience working with Independent Schools, we are well versed in the unique ISI requirements. If you have an inspection coming up – or you need to hit targets set in previous inspections – we can support you.

Waverley prep joined us in late 2019. We have helped them diagnose ongoing network issues, upgrade their wifi system, internet & digital safeguarding system and plan and implement an ongoing upgrade through the school. Most recently we helped them deploy Chromebooks to assist with remote learning. We have worked with their Headmaster Guy Shore for many years, including in his previous school. Assistance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

On May 25th, 2018, the way the EU requires businesses to handle Data Protection changed. From that date, anyone who uses customer data will have to meet new regulations. There are also special new rules for the handling of children’s data. With fines set to reach over 4% of your annual turnover, failing to meet the new standards could have huge repercussions. We can help you ensure you meet the new regulations before the deadline.

MDM (Mobile Device Managment)

Mobile devices are some of the most useful and versatile pieces of technology to appear in the classroom in the last decade. They make it easier for teachers to teach and students to learn by offering access to software packages and information that enhance the educational experience.

Tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices can provide rich, digital content that help pupils learn and make it easier for them to engage with each other and their teachers. Educational apps and websites take this a step further with focused content. Our MDM solutions for schools deliver the best of these elements in an easy-to-manage, wireless, and secure platform; deployment of Apps, Shortcuts, Settings and Restrictions across multiple devices can be done with one click of the mouse! With MDM, teachers focus on teaching, students focus on learning, and mobile device management stays out of the way.
